What We Do
Zeus
Energy Consulting Group helps both operating companies and
suppliers of products and services to grow their businesses
within the gas-monetization industry. Operating companies
include, for example, pipeline companies, major oil companies,
utilities, marketing companies, etc. Suppliers include equipment
manufacturers, process licensors, engineers and services firms.
Gas monetization refers to projects aimed at either exporting/utilizing
stranded natural gas via pipeline, for example, or converting
it into LNG or other products for delivery to global markets.
Apart from LNG, conversion technologies include GTL, methanol,
DME, gas-to-olefins, ammonia, and other means of converting
gas to a transportable product for international trade.
The following are three representative consulting assignments:
- Global market research and broad-based value-chain analysis
for a world-leading manufacturer of cryogenic equipment
in the upstream and midstream oil & gas sector. Analysis
included a rigorous examination of the global markets for
ethane, ethylene and polyolefins in addition to global monetization
of stranded and remote gas, including LNG, gas-to-liquids,
methanol, etc.
- Analysis of the aviation fuels market funded by a leading
alternative fuels association in the US.
- Economic study of integrated gasification combined-cycle
("IGCC") power generation for a world-leading
gas-turbine manufacturer. Study included economic comparisons
of super-critical pulverized coal, IGCC and gas-fired refit.
Zeus maintains an extensive databank of statistics in connection
with gas-monetization projects and markets worldwide. Zeus
uses these statistics to analyze market share, pricing and
success/failure of various products and services. Through
our periodicals, conferences and workshops, we are constantly
in touch with the energy industry, garnering information,
sharing ideas and learning of new opportunities. This enables
us to serve a broad range of individual clients and formulate
ideas for joint-industry projects.
Our principals, executive consultants and advisors bring
C-level expertise in the energy sector, including development,
project/structured finance, technology assessment, program
management, engineering & construction and operations.
Areas of management consulting expertise include policy &
planning, regulatory affairs, industry restructuring, economics,
feasibility, project finance and due-diligence.
We also bring experience and expertise in engineering, program
management, construction and operations in the following areas:

Project Development:
Development activities typically include conceptual
design, sizing & configuration, optimization, development
strategy, due-diligence, business-structure analysis &
tax strategy, economic evaluation (pro forma modeling), siting,

Zeus
brings its knowledge of supply and markets to improve the
client's business model, for example, locking in gross margins
between feedstock and end product to minimize risk and maximize
project-finance leverage, thereby increasing the return on
each dollar of investment. Our great strength is in the ability
to identify and affect the development of facilities so as
to achieve the lowest cost and greatest efficiency without
compromising design integrity.
Zeus is comprised of seasoned technologists, project developers,
market analysts, specialists and financiers. Zeus team members
have led the construction some of the world's largest and
most advanced facilities in the hydrocarbon value chain.
Hence, we're not only well-equipped to perform feasibility
and pre-FEED services, but we'll negotiate secure supply and
off-take agreements with selected suppliers and consumers
to lock in margins, enabling low-cost finance and ensuring
high returns on equity while mitigating risk.
